RARE PHOTO OF AFRICAN SLAVE FREED FROM HIS SHACKLES

Believe it or not, here is a very rare historical photo you wouldn't believe exists?

Going through some remarkably rare historical photographs I stumbled across - this particular photo caught my attention the most because of the story behind it. We rarely make such posts on this blog but this photo and it's story couldn't go unnoticed.

Without much Ado let's dig in, here in this photo is a newly freed negro slaves getting his shackle cut off by a blacksmith.

This touching photograph was taken precisely in 1907, in and about the time slavery was abolished globally but it will interest you to know that this dastard act was still rife in the Arab world.

This lucky man whose name remains unknown along with others were freed from a slaving ship by the British frigate. Their slave ship was cornered off the coast of Oman by the British frigate, and if not for the hands of fate, this man along with his co-slaves onboard the slave ship would have been condemned to a lifelong sentence of slavery just because of the skins on their backs.

The unique feature about this photograph is that it is one of the rarest photographs ever of a person being freed from slavery.
